The Jamunia River originates near Bishungarh. It runs near the Grand Trunk Road from around Bagodar to past Dumri.[3][4]
Bagodar community development block had a population of 236,482, out of which 117,697 were males and 118,785 were females. 83,962 persons were literate.[5]
Bagodar stands at the crossing of National Highway 2 and National Highway 100. The nearest railway station, Hazaribagh Road, is located 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) from Bagodar.
